The VR/AR Developer works within the Learning Solutions | Technology team to design, develop and sustain mixed reality environments, business simulations and games, with rich interactive graphics and data visualizations. They will serve as a hands-on member of the team, employing both existing experience in combination with implementing new functionality and innovations that is characteristic of immersive technologies.

Responsibilities

The successful VR/AR Developer will have experience with high-performance graphics, physics engines, and 3D game environments. They are skilled in application development, software architecture and design. In addition, they can deliver appealing and easy to use user interfaces. Working on a wide variety of tasks they use emerging technologies and combine technical skills with instructional design sensibilities. With excellent time-management, and communication skills they can learn quickly in a fast-paced environment. The position will work internally with Learning Design and Lifecycle Analytics teams, as well as with Product Line Training Managers, Subject Matter Experts, Learners and with external vendor representatives and consultants.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • 3-5 years relevant experience in game development or software engineering.
  • Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering preferred with specialization in Computer Graphics.
  • Collaborates with designers, developers, domain experts and product owners to implement scalable and interactive applications.
  • Identifies and keeps abreast of novel technical concepts and markets.
  • Provides technical leadership and documentation to developers and stakeholders.
  • May mentor others regarding technical matters.
  • Builds prototypes, products, and systems suitable for testing.
  • Contributes to design standards and supports design re-use.
  • Understanding of training and instructional design basics
