Role and Responsibilities At the UX Studio, we work on the future of mobile. As a mix of designers, creative technologists, researchers, and writers, we collaborate and learn through making. Our mission is to create innovative experiences that empower and connect people. We investigate and iterate on emerging user needs, new technologies, and form factors to define user ideal experiences, sometimes even before it’s technically possible. Situated in the HQ mobile division, our work contributes directly to future product roadmaps
Samsung Electronics America is seeking a qualified Senior Creative Technologist, you’ll partner with the team to develop innovative frameworks and experiences across mobile devices, leveraging research insights and focused experimentation.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Produce concepts, frameworks, and code to a very high standard, while understanding the importance of applying the appropriate fidelity at different stages of the process
- Lead projects to transform insights into tangible outputs through an iterative mindset
- Continually add to a kit of real, working experiences and exploratory tools
- Leverage tech-forward creative thinking, investigative prototyping, and programming to push forward the collective intellect of the studio
- Present deliverables and clearly explain technical concepts and direction
- Contribute to a positive and flexible culture of support, collaboration, and intellectual generosity. Collaboration is key to how we work. Studio members of multiple disciplines partner on projects from the start, blending diverse expertise to think broadly and incisively and then to realize and communicate our vision for the future.
Skills and Qualifications ABOUT YOU

- You’re happy to teach others what you’ve learned over the years and what you’re learning today.
- You’re comfortable conceptually and technically with a variety of devices, from mobile to wearable to XR.
- You have a strong understanding of UX design principles and best practices and how to apply them.
- You’re an autonomous self-starter who can identify and tackle design problems independently.
- You never stop learning, and stay humble.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 12+ years of experience in creative technology, or similar role in interactive content creation, experience design, video games or immersive media, or other related narratives, as well as UX Design experience in immersive experiences
- Portfolio of projects that demonstrate your skills as a technologist/developer/designer
- Programming generalist, with experience in some/all of the following: JavaScript, NodeJS, React, Ruby/Rails, Python, Object-Oriented Programming, C#, generative design, ML, etc.
- Experience in Extended Reality…MR, AR, VR, Spatial UX
- 2+ years of experience with XR programming framework such as Unity (preferred), Unreal, WebGL, or other related technologies.
- Comfortable with code management and version control
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiar with web, backend and frontend technologies (Swift, Java, Python, HTML/CSS)
- Familiar with electrical hardware and rapid prototyping, and comfortable creatively developing experiences which leverage multiple discrete hardware platforms
- Experience with motion (After Effects, i.e.) or 3D design (Cinema 4D, Blender, etc.)
- Experience in the consumer electronics market
- Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and change
- Strong presentation skills
