Technology development group is looking for a AR/VR Audio Systems Manager to lead the team responsible for audio system software architecture, low-level firmware, power/performance optimization. This team is responsible for the real time audio stack in Apple’s next generation products and collaborates closely with experience, software, and hardware teams.

Key Qualifications

10+ years industry experience in Audio and low-level embedded development

5+ years of management experience in the Audio domain

Deep understanding of real time audio and multithreaded software

Familiarity with audio engineering and ability to get into technical details to solve problems.

Ability to lead cross-functional architecture definition in collaboration with user experience, software, and signal processing teams

Familiarity with power/performance optimization techniques to deliver top notch audio experiences

Familiarity with system hardware and silicon architecture for audio products

Description

We are looking for a hands on leader who cares deeply about audio and building high performing teams. The successful candidate will lead the Audio Systems team responsible for the real time audio stack in Apple’s next generation products.


The team collaborates closely with user experience and signal processing algorithm teams. Familiarity with embedded real time systems (firmware, data, RTOS, silicon) and a foundational understanding of audio processing (sampling theorem, bit depth, serial communication, signal processing, noise suppression, beam forming) is desirable.


Central to the success of this role is the ability to drive architectural consensus with multiple stakeholder organizations while maintaining focus on low-latency and low-power audio system specification required to deliver high quality spatial audio experiences. Experience leading engineering teams to deliver key features for audio products is a plus.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's of Science or Engineering in a relevant discipline. Significant industry experience is crucial to the success of this role.
