Unity Developer (Short-Term/Remote)


A. Harold and Associates, LLC is seeking qualified candidates for a short-term/remote Unity Developer position that will provide several months of surge implementation support on a team developing a virtual reality (VR) maintenance training demonstration. The Unity Developer is a core member of the development team, working directly with Instructional System Designers (ISD) and Multimedia Specialists (MMS) to assist in the design and development of of this extended reality (XR) product. Our ideal candidate is experienced with Unity/C# and can utilize their skill-sets to integrate media assets as well as implement features—systems, interactions, and behaviors. This opportunity has remote work availability.

Specific Duties/Job Requirements:


  • Takes early-stage concepts and transform them into outstanding immersive experiences
  • Plans and implements functionality in Unity for immersive and interactive training products
  • Transforms design ideas into functional features
  • Implements user interface screens, transitions, animations, and visual effects (VFX)
  • Supports content creation pipelines, tool development, and workflow improvements
  • Creates clean and reusable code libraries using C#
  • Identifies and fixes code errors and bottlenecks
  • Tests functionality of all products
  • Ensures products conform to high industry standards
  • Ensures products meet clients’ requirements
  • Other duties as assigned


Required Experience/Education/Clearance:

  • Bachelor's degree in software engineering or computer science
  • 5+ years of experience as a software developer
  • Strong artistic and/or technical skills
  • Exceptional knowledge of Unity (developing in C#)
  • Experience developing games or training in Unity
  • Unity optimization expertise for lower-powered devices (desktops, laptops, older phones, etc.)
  • Experience with Agile and Test-Driven Development (TDD)
  • Strong demonstrable collaboration skills, working side-by-side among disciplines with varying levels of technical understanding
  • Ability to use source control to collaborate with team members
  • Strong problem-solving skills, self-motivated, and team-oriented
  • Must be US Citizen


Preferred Experience/Education:

Any of the following experience is a plus-

  • Experience with full-cycle game design
  • Application architecture and design patterns
  • Experience with the 3D media pipeline for game development experience with development of extended reality products
  • Experience with development for mobile applications
  • Familiar with Learning Management Systems (LMS) reporting frameworks such as Shareable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM) and Experience API (xAPI)
