In this role the Senior Proposal Manager will take ownership of the full proposal development lifecycle, leading activities from kickoff to submission for highly complex and/or strategic proposals and oversee junior proposal team members on the development of other proposals.


• Mentor/ coach proposal team members; delegate tasking, evaluate skills, develop training plans


• Serve as a liaison between proposal team and upper management; track and report pipeline status; support operational business planning and goal development/ tracking


• Establish, create, and enforce proposal standards; Identify trends and opportunities for improvements in quality and/or efficiency and adjust standards as needed


• Independently anticipate and forecast potential proposal issues and pitfalls; identify and resolve proposal resource constraints


• Oversee submittal of all proposals and coordination with sponsor organization


• Recommend opportunities for proposal graphics; identify gaps in boilerplate graphics; align graphics with win themes


• Maintain subcontractor relationships and address issues with data calls; guide the subcontracts team to include proposal, contracts, and accounting team members


• Manage the assembly and ensure compliance of proposal cost volumes


• Conduct basic copy editing, quality, and compliance reviews


• Professionally represent Design Interactive when working with other companies on teaming proposals


• Manage the Business Development SharePoint site and reusable proposal content


• Support miscellaneous business development activities such as preparation for tradeshows and other marketing events


• Maintain flexibility, demonstrating a willingness to take on additional work and responsibilities as required to support business functions

 


Requirements: 

Education: Bachelor's degree in related field Communications, Business, or Marketing preferred

 

Experience: Minimum 5 years of government proposal development experience required

 

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Working knowledge of government contracting and proposal development; Shipley knowledge strongly preferred

• Requires excellent oral and written communication skills

• Requires ability to work independently and with minimal supervision

• Requires excellent detail orientation and organizational skills

• Requires ability to maintain high quality standards in a very fast-paced environment

• Requires ability to prioritize and balance workload while adapting to deadline changes successfully

• Requires ability to work with a team in a persistent, tactful, and enthusiastic manner

• Requires proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Project

 

Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Contracts Management - please note if this is an area you're familiar with

• Advanced skillset of Microsoft Word (formatting and styles)

• Technical writing, copy editing, or other writer training skills

• Working knowledge of basic graphic design tools in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign)

• Interest in technology and/or background in a related technical field such as software development
