YBVR is developing a new app for VR headsets to watch live sports. Designed to be a sports hub for live and VoD content, we are looking for a tech and sports enthusiast to help us create the future of sports viewership.

This Operations Engineer will join our team in USA, and support the operation of this new app, working closely with our Europe-based product and operations teams. Qualified Operations Engineers will have a video-centric background of the architecture of video streaming platforms.

You will have the chance to work in a small and dynamic team, were you'll be expected to take big responsibilities and you will be able to make a difference with your contributions to the company.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the successful operation of our platform, minimizing downtime and maximizing efficiency.
• Own the operation of our Production, QA, and Development environments.
• Operate our cloud environments and design and document monitoring strategies.
• Ensure our systems are secure, taking the necessary measures to prevent attacks.
• Deploy new releases and new system components on the environments.
• Integrate our systems with 3PP components, such as CDNs, DRM, etc.
• Perform maintenance and OS upgrades, making sure all safety patches are applied with no service disruption.
• Operate the video platform and manage the content ingest and video catalog.
• Act as main contact US point for our Europe-based Operations team.
• Remotely support our field production teams at the sports venues.
• Desire to investigate and understand root causes for issues involving applications and their environments.

Required Qualifications

• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP), including automated cloud deployment tools (Terraform)
• Good understanding of the architecture of video streaming platforms
• Solid experience with Linux systems, and troubleshooting skills
• Scripting skills of writing simple Linux Shell scripts, and debugging complex ones
• Basic knowledge of IP networking (TCP/UPD, routing, etc.)
• Experience troubleshooting network problems with network analysis tools (Wireshark, tcpdump, etc.)
• Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team
• Analytical thinker, capable of translating business requirements into solution architecture
• Highly motivated, self-starter, unafraid of learning new skills
• Fluent English speaker

Preferred Qualifications

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related subject, or relevant professional experience
• 2+ years' experience in system integration
• Experience working in the telco or video streaming industry
• Knowledge of Open Source video tools (Ffmpeg, GStreamer)
• Experience with CDN integration
• Experience with VR/AR, Mobile and Web development is a plus
