Job Description
The Applied Materials team seeks a Mechanical Engineer with the ability to work on groundbreaking thermal solutions for AR and VR devices.
Minimum Qualifications
- B.S. in mechanical engineering or other relevant degree
- 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering
- Solid knowledge of PCB (substrate) manufacturing, PCBA, SMT, and DFM guidelines
- Experience with taking CAD from concept level through qualification, to testing and hand-off.
- Good knowledge of electronic packaging hardware
- Experience with working in a lab environment building prototypes, jigs and fixtures.
- Experience with the design of bellows, hinges and various mechanisms. Solid understanding of surface properties, e.g., roughness, flatness, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to own projects from start to finish
- M.S. in mechanical engineering or other relevant degree
- 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering
- Good knowledge of manufacturing technologies, e.g., extrusions, casting, injection molding, thermo-forming
- Knowledge of metrology tools and applications
- Heat transfer and IR domain
- Experience with wet and dry chemistries
- Structural dynamics
- Experience managing international vendors
- Experience with product build cycles and qualification from concept through EVT, DVT, ramp, etc.
