Objective:


Acentric is a white label digital experiential production agency. We produce a diverse range of innovative content and interactive experiences spanning various emerging digital media such as augmented reality, virtual reality, gesture control, computer vision, immersive environments, projection mapping, real-time 3D, etc.


We are seeking an experienced and technically-savvy event producer to join our team. You are experienced in all elements of producing live events, including digital and experiential projects that are creatively unique and technically robust. You have wide-ranging knowledge of live event production, from experience design and venue selection to staffing, catering and branded giveaway production. You can manage an event from start to finish, including identifying and contracting with any needed vendors. Hands-on technical competence with computer hardware, AV gear and photo/video equipment would be a definite plus.


You have excellent communication skills and understand the importance of fostering healthy and productive relationships with vendors, clients, alliance partners and other stakeholders. You will be working with our team in New York as well as managing resources and clients around the world. This job can be done largely remote, but you should be located in New York and available to come into the office when needed. Travel to events and on-site installations is required, often off hours and on weekends.


You will be responsible for projects from concept to completion, delivered on time and within budget. Scoping projects, developing and monitoring budgets and schedules, managing internal and client stakeholders, and maintaining up-to-date reporting on all your jobs will be a regular part of your day. You are hands-on, highly organized and an excellent communicator with a cool head under pressure.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Simultaneously oversee a range of event and interactive projects, often as both producer and client manager.
  • Foster and maintain successful relationships with clients and alliance partners.
  • Ensure that the client’s expectations and budget/time constraints are adequately balanced. You understand that sometimes you need to say no to a client, and you know how to do so with tact and diplomacy.
  • Report to Managing Director on progress, issues and risks.
  • Prepare thorough and accurate proposals, documentation and recommendations for clients.
  • Prepare and monitor budgets, schedules and resource plans for production.
  • Oversee project documentation: wireframes, user flows, tech/functional specs, change requests etc.


Skills:

  • At least 3-5 years of event agency or similar experience managing live events and/or interactive projects, ideally including advanced technologies.
  • Solid understanding of development platforms and UI best practice, but also able to translate this knowledge to clients.
  • Competent understanding of computer hardware and other types of equipment used for interactive installations.
  • High level of problem-solving skills coupled with the ability to adapt to areas outside current expertise.
  • Strong client or account management experience with excellent client facing skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to keep a cool head under pressure.
  • Ability to multi-task and juggle several jobs of differing scope and budget at once.
  • Detail-oriented, process-driven and highly organized.
