Job Summary

To assist in the development, enhancement and/or deployment of software and hardware tools to enable engineering in the creation and maintenance of products.
  • Provides or assures that day-to-day system administrative tasks are completed
  • Troubleshoots problems with hardware, software and processes and works with vendors and service suppliers as needed.
  • Provides mentoring and training to engineering staff.
  • Installs, maintains and updates application software such as Creo Parametric, Windchill PDMLink, Vuforia Studio and Visionary Render.
  • Identifies and proposes hardware and software to meet strategic and tactical requirements of the engineering teams.
  • Develop creative and unique scripting solutions for real-world applications of XR software using languages such as JavaScript and LUA.
  • Liaison on behalf of CAEPS, ETS and TTC Engineering with other functional groups such as IT and Operations.
  • Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.

Specifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or other engineering discipline; Computer Science; or Information Technology
  • Entry level experience. Minimum of zero (0) to two (2) years of experience
  • Interested in XR technology and willing to help spread its use across the enterprise as well as the manufacturing industry as a whole
  • Ability to learn new hardware and software systems quickly and adapt to the changing XR landscape
  • Demonstrate general understanding of scripting practices and willing to learn new languages
  • Experience working with CAD models and translating them
  • Experience in one of the following XR headsets: Oculus, Vive, Windows MR, Valve Index, Hololens, Vuzix, NReal, and mobile (phone/tablet) AR experiences

  • Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed.
  • Demonstrates the ability to identify and sort out relevant information.
  • Growing efficiency in applying design development skills to problem solving.
