Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in either an academic or industry setting.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in C++, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
  • 1 year of experience in 3D computer graphics (e.g., animation, rendering, game engines, etc.).

Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
  • 2 years of experience in multiplayer game development, virtual reality, high-performance programming, and/or game debugging.
  • Experience developing accessible technologies.
  • Experience with experience design in any medium (e.g., music and/or digital or graphical media).
  • Knowledge of trigonometry, 3D transforms, linear algebra, geometry processing, performance profiling, and optimization on mobile devices.
  • Knowledge of one or more game engine, and ability to craft interactive experiences.

In this role, you will ideate, prototype, evaluate, and productize Virtual Reality (VR) experiences and hardware in a collaborative work environment. You will work in an environment and develop high-quality software artifacts. You will develop robust implementations that span from low-fidelity prototypes to productionized applications.

The Google Augmented Reality team is a diverse group of experts tasked with building the foundations for great immersive computing and building helpful, delightful user experiences. We're focused on making immersive computing accessible to billions of people through mobile devices, and our scope continues to grow and evolve.

Responsibilities

  • Optimize the dataset and runtime behind VR projects for them to be viable on a wide set of VR headsets.
  • Prototype next-generation features of VR to make the experience feel useful, comprehensive, social, and personal.
  • Design, develop, polish, and launch VR projects and features.
