ALT Systems, a national systems and services provider for the Media & Entertainment industry, is recruiting qualified applicants for a Managed Services position as a CG Studio Application Support Engineer. This is a full-time, onsite career opportunity supporting MarCom post-production operations at the most renowned technology and content creation companies in Silicon Valley.


This specialized role supports systems used to craft our customer’s marketing content. As such, you must have extensive experience managing critical server, storage, and switching hardware including Linux, OS X, Xsan, StorNext and enterprise-class Ethernet and Brocade Fibre Channel hardware. A strong background in video post-production and thorough understanding of the associated technologies is required. Knowledge of Post-Production workflows and associated programs is also very important. You will have several years of experience working in the post-production space as well as the technical engineering world.


We're looking for people who can exhibit poise under pressure, be comfortable in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment, promptly address and resolve technical and workflow issues, document and track support tickets, and work with vendors as needed and perform hands-on software version upgrades as required. You'll be backed up by an experienced staff of ALT Systems engineers, technicians, and project managers dedicated to delivering world-class managed services on behalf of one of Silicon Valley’s biggest content creators.


Key Qualifications:


  • 3+ years in a similar position, ideally supporting computer graphics system users.
  • Excels in supporting environments for and the use of digital content creation tools including but not limited to Autodesk Maya, TheFoundry Nuke, SideFX Houdini, and a suite of industry standard renderers such as ChaosGroup V-Ray, Autodesk Arnold, Maxon Redshift, and Otoy Octane is required
  • A thorough understanding of Apple’s AR platform and expertise with Reality Composer and Reality Converter
  • Experience in handling and troubleshooting 3D assets, their geometry, rigs, textures, shaders and associated metadata within a VFX pipeline and various AR/VR platforms
  • Knowledge of a variety of software licensing methodologies and applications, including an in-depth understanding of industry-standard solutions, such as FlexNet and RLM
  • Expertise with a variety of real-time development(AR/VR) platforms and game engines including Unity, UnrealEngine and ARKit
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills defined as the capability to converse fluently, communicate effectively, and write intelligibly and concisely.
  • Operational knowledge of creative Mac-based applications such as Final Cut Pro, Adobe Creative Cloud

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and documentation skills.
  • A BS degree in either CS/CE, Communications, or equivalent experience.
  • Certifications in Redhat, Cisco CCNA, Brocade FC, and Quantum Stornext are a plus.


This is an exempt individual contributor position requiring the ability to sit, stand, speak, hear, see, operate a computer keyboard and mouse, and lift up to 50 pounds.
